Assistant Teacher Earns CDA

Assistant Teacher Christine Sturgis is the latest LCCAA Head Start staff members to earn their Child Development Associate credential.

Christine has worked at Griswold since August and hopes to continue learning new techniques to grow in her profession.

“I very much enjoy working with children and seeing them learn and grow,” she said.

The CDA is widely recognized as the foundational credential for the profession of early childhood education. Requirements include 120 hours of coursework, a portfolio, 480 hours of classroom work and a classroom visit.
