Dads were invited for a special event in LCCAA Head Start classrooms where these easy, tasty donuts were featured!
Ingredients
1 can refrigerator biscuits (such as Pillsbury Grands)
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 T cinnamon
vegetable or peanut oil for frying
Procedure
- Mix the cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl and set aside.
- Heat 2 inches of oil in a large, heavy-bottomed pot on medium to medium-high heat for 5 minutes.
- Pop the can open and separate each biscuit from the can.
- Cut about 1 inch from the middle of each biscuit using a small cookie cutter. (Save to fry up as donut holes!)
- Fry donuts in batches of 2 or 3 at a time, one minute on each side.
- Drain donuts on paper towels.
- While they are still warm, dip all sides of the donuts into the cinnamon and sugar mixture.
